Underglaze Transfer - William Morris Marigolds
Inspired by the timeless botanical patterns of William Morris, Marigolds features an intricate arrangement of bold flowers, feathery leaves, curling stems, and smaller blossoms woven together in a richly detailed repeating design. The dense, flowing composition has the unmistakable Arts & Crafts feel of a vintage textile or wallpaper pattern.
This transfer is especially beautiful when used as an all-over surface design on plates, platters, bowls, vases, and larger forms, but individual sections can also be cut apart for smaller pieces. The strong contrast and abundant linework create a wonderfully detailed surface while still allowing the clay or background color to become part of the design.
A great choice for anyone who loves William Morris, vintage botanicals, Arts & Crafts patterns, or richly layered floral designs.
High quality underglaze transfer printed on thin rice tissue paper.
Extra Large Size: 19”x13”.
Test samples are included with every order. Always test transfers first before committing to a large piece or body of work.
Temperature Range: Cone 06-10. Zinc-free Clear Glaze Recommended.
Level of Difficulty: Medium. Large areas of color will require more burnishing. Will need touching up.
PLEASE NOTE: It is not recommended to rub, sponge or rinse bisqued pieces before glazing as some of the transfers can still smear at this stage.
Once glazed, the transfers are permanently fused to the clay and are considered food safe as long as the glaze used over them is rated food safe.
Check out the Underglaze Transfer process page for detailed instructions on how to use these transfers and/or download instructions here.
