Underglaze Transfer - Portugal Tiles
The Portugal Tiles underglaze transfer is inspired by the beautiful decorative tilework found throughout Portugal. The design features a repeating grid of ornate, symmetrical motifs with curling floral details, graceful scrollwork, and small star-like accents where the tiles meet.
The crisp linework gives the pattern a classic azulejo-inspired look that works beautifully as an all-over design on plates, platters, trays, bowls, vases, and architectural-style ceramic pieces. You can also cut the pattern into individual squares, strips, or sections to create borders, bands, and tiled accents.
A timeless design for anyone who loves Mediterranean patterns, Portuguese tilework, vintage ornament, and geometric florals.
High quality underglaze transfer printed on thin rice tissue paper.
Extra Large Size: 19”x13”.
Test samples are included with every order. Always test transfers first before committing to a large piece or body of work.
Temperature Range: Cone 06-10. Zinc-free Clear Glaze Recommended.
Level of Difficulty: Easy.
PLEASE NOTE: It is not recommended to rub, sponge or rinse bisqued pieces before glazing as some of the transfers can still smear at this stage.
Once glazed, the transfers are permanently fused to the clay and are considered food safe as long as the glaze used over them is rated food safe.
Check out the Underglaze Transfer process page for detailed instructions on how to use these transfers and/or download instructions here.
